The International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness is the main partner in the W.H.O. "VISION 2020; Right to Sight" global initiative to prevent avoidable blindness by 2020. The IAPB board recently approved the development of an Environmental Sustainability Working Group with the first inaugural meeting on Sept 15th in Kathmandhu where representatives of IAPB's 3500+ member organisations will meet Sept 15-18th 2017.

The Group have also been invited to run a workshop on the Triple Bottom Line for Eye health and social care on Monday 18th. Some members of the working group will join the event "virtually" but a face to face event in Kathmandhu aims to raise awareness amongst those already attending.

Representatives from the RCOphth Sustainability Working Group, including CSH and VISION 2020 UK will be "attending" and encouraging IAPB and its members to develop green champions and Triple Bottom Line strategies within their organisation, self assessment toolkits and a Sustainability Prize
