The Global Health curriculum group has developed capabilities for all postgraduate doctors. These are to equip doctors with knowledge and skills ready for the globalised world that we live in. Environmental determinants are inherently global and are addressed within the capability document. The capabilities will be launched on 22nd September in London. The link to the event is here; if you would like to join, please either sign up below or email us directly and we will reserve a seat. https://www.rsm.ac.uk/events/events-listing/2015-2016/groups/global-hea… The key note speaker will be Lord Nigel Crisp (House of Lords and Co-chair of APPG on Global Health), and we have a range of expert speakers from all levels of our health care system including patients, practitioners and commissioners of postgraduate training. The Global Health Curriculum Group (GHCG); this group was formed in 2010 through invitations to all Royal Medical Colleges, the Faculty of Public Health, the Royal College of Nursing and the Royal College of Midwifery, facilitated by the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges' (AoMRC) International Forum. Our aim is to promote the inclusion of Global Health capabilities into the different Royal College curricula and also to promote the importance of GH in the UK. In our increasingly interdependent world, GH is relevant to all healthcare professionals. With increasing population movement and shifting disease patterns, healthcare professionals working in the UK are being challenged to deliver effective care to multicultural communities with diverse needs. Healthcare professionals also require an understanding of, and the ability to respond to, the effects of globalisation on health and health systems.
