Endoscopy Valve Cages

Single use plastic cages are often used to ensure that buttons are kept with the scope for traceability-- Does anyone have any alternative solutions (which avoid single use plastic)?

Reusable metal cages were previously used, but problems with rust were reported. Others have used a net bag, but had problems with lint.

Any ideas that comply with IPC and also keep the buttons alongside the scope?
