This blog is about two courses that I have run at the University of Southern California; an undergraduate college course about sustainability from the lens of an occupational therapist and Green Lifestyle Redesign®, an employee wellness program. Each has had the effect of increasing sustainable behaviours with some inspiring results.

Coming back to the world, or, How a Canvas bag changed my life

Those of you that read my previous OT Susnet blog in November last year may rightly have been expecting a number of other blogs to follow shortly afterwards.  Indeed, I said that they would be.  In January, I fell off my bike and fell off the radar. My recovery journey this year has been life changing and I now feel like I'm coming back to the world again.  

Sustainable Healthcare Education during NET 2012

How can healthcare educators prepare their students for the clinical consequences of an increasingly unstable climate?  What role can teachers and trainers have in changing clinical practice to support a more sustainable healthcare system?

Has anyone ever organised a...

Has anyone ever organised a litter picking event with patients? Our unit is next to a stream and community park which is often very littered. I have some interest from a few patients to try to maintain these areas for the local community. I'm guessing I could approach the local council but I'm not sure where I would stand with insurance etc. If anyone has any advice I would be really grateful. Thank you.
