Greener AHP at Chief Allied Health Professions Officer Conference 2022

The Chief Allied Health Professions Officer (CAHPO) Conference will be taking place virtually across the 21, 22 and 23 June 2022. 

The new 5-year strategy AHPs Deliver will be launched with sessions exploring each of the strategy's themes, with two sessions highlighting environmental sustainability.

Sustainable Models of Care Framework - Manraj Phull (Chief Sustainability Officer's Clinical Fellow, Greener NHS)

Sustainable Healthcare Networking and NHS Forest MSc Project - Marty Climenhaga (Occupational Therapy student, University of Southampton)

Collaborative Leadership for Sustainability - Smita Tripathi (Lecturer in Human Resource Studies and Leadership, University of Plymouth) and Benji Shoker (Research Assistant, University of Plymouth)

Public Health and Prevention - Rachael Middle (Clinical Quality Improvement Lead, Isle of Wight Trust)

Reducing the Environmental Impact of Resources - Glove Awareness - Wendy Briggs (Clinic Specialist, NHS Supply Chain)

Food and Nutrition - Clare Pettinger (Lecturer in Public Health Dietetics, University of Plymouth)

Session objectives include:

  • Identify the importance of environmental sustainability to AHP practice

  • Understand the ambitions in the environmental sustainability theme in AHP’s Deliver and the critical enablers across all the strategy themes

  • Have an overview of the Greener AHP Hub, and other resources and networks available to support Greener AHP practice

  • Plan next steps and actions to take for developing Greener AHP practice in the workplace
