Sustainable Quality Improvement

Thursday, July 16, 2020 - 09:00 - 13:00
‘Sustainable Quality Improvement’ has been approved for 5 CPD credits by the Royal College of Physicians.

This is an intensive course to introduce health professionals and educators to the concept of ‘sustainable value’ and the ‘SusQI’ framework.

About this Event

Sustainability is one of the domains of quality in healthcare. Building it into quality improvement (QI) is a practical way to create incremental change towards a more ethical, sustainable health system. The Centre for Sustainable Healthcare has developed a "SusQI" framework for the inclusion of sustainability in QI and we are now working to support its widespread adoption into QI education and practice. This intensive course is part of our CSH Sustainability School to introduce health professionals and educators to the concept of ‘sustainable value’ and the ‘SusQI’ framework for integrating sustainability into quality improvement. Learning from real examples, participants explore in depth how the framework can be applied in practice to develop preventative, holistic, lean, low carbon care. The course is made up of a 4-hour interactive self-study online module and a 4-hour workshop conducted remotely over a video conferencing platform.

"I thoroughly enjoyed this study day & would recommend as a must to others! The most holistic approach to QI that I have come across and great to spend the day surrounded by enthusiastic, like-minded individuals. Thank you.” Fiona Brennan, Consultant Anaesthetist, Cardiff & Vale UHB
