Training Workshop: Talking to Patients and Parents about Air Pollution
Are you interested in joining a new pilot-project designed to support you to play a pivotal role in protecting your patients from air pollution? Join one of our free training workshops to get involved! (Multiple dates available)
Air pollution is a health emergency – causing up to 36,000 deaths and over 20,000 hospital admissions every year in the UK. Health professionals can play a crucial role in protecting people’s health from air pollution, and in influencing behaviours to address the problem.
We’re looking for paediatric health professionals to become Clean Air Champions, and to take part in a two-month demonstrator project to incorporate air pollution advice into the patient pathway. We’re aiming to develop a nationally implementable approach.
You don't need to be an expert already, and you'll only need to attend one workshop to get involved!
We'll be joined in this session by Professor Jonathan Grigg, who will share his expertise as a Paediatric Respiratory specialist and former vice-chair of the Royal College of Physicians’ working party on air pollution, and we will cover the following topics:
- The health impacts of air pollution, and how patients can protect themselves
- Approaches to advising your patients about air pollution
- How to increase your impact by sharing this project in your organisation
Building on this workshop, we invite you to join a 2-month (remote) trial to gather info on the best ways to share air pollution advice. Your feedback will inform our report to Defra, our part funders in this project.
If you're not a paediatric specialist, but you're interested in being part of this project, please email: email@example.com
We look forward to working with you on this exciting project!
Thank you very much.
