NHS & Carbon Disclosure Project: Supplier Event

Wednesday, October 14, 2009 - 23:00

In support of the NHS Carbon Reduction Strategy, the NHS Purchasing and Supply Agency (PASA) has initiated a programme with the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP).

Over eight years CDP has become recognised as a leading mechanism by which companies can share details of their carbon emissions and mitigation activities with key stakeholders or the wider public. In 2008 alone, over 2,000 companies responded to the CDP request for information.

The PASA Sustainable Development team is inviting a number of suppliers to a ‘free of charge - no obligation’ workshop about the NHS CDP Programme in Solihull on the 15th October 2009. This will be an opportunity to hear more about the work that the NHS is doing on carbon reduction and specifically to provide information on the NHS CDP Programme, to hear from other organisations who already disclose through CDP and to ask questions.

Previous experience has shown that suppliers that engage with the carbon disclosure process learn a great deal about their operations and frequently make cost savings as a result.
