Toasting good health and sustainability - social for health professionals

Sunday, November 15, 2015 - 18:00 - 19:30
The Southover, 58 Southover St, Brighton, East Sussex, BN2 9UF, GB

Calling all doctors and nurses, physios and paramedics, OTs and SaLTs, and anyone else who works (or is training to work) in health, public health or social care. Join us to raise a glass and toast good health and sustainability!

As part of Brighton's 'Time to Act' week, we'll be meeting up to discuss climate change as a health issue, how we can start to take action locally, the health co-benefits of a low carbon lifestyle, the sustainable commissioning of services, and to explore the work of the Sustainable Development Unit, the Centre for Sustainable Healthcare, and the Climate and Health Council amongst others.

Climate Change was described on the Lancet's front page as "the biggest global health threat this century" and the World Health Organisation state that it will affect all populations. The NHS is largest public sector carbon emitter in Europe and needs to adopt sustainable models of care.

At 7.30pm we're going to be wandering down to Hanover Community Centre to watch 'This Changes Everything'
