On July 5th the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) published new environmental sustainability requirements, comprising of a module and award, within their Practice Standards Scheme (PSS).

The new standards have been developed by the Practice Standards Group (PSG) in collaboration with the Centre for Sustainable Healthcare (CSH) aimed at improving sustainability within the veterinary profession and supporting professionals to lead the way in addressing the global climate crisis.

With over two-thirds of UK practices signed up to the PSS, the new requirements provide a unique opportunity for practices to take direct action collectively in reducing the environmental impact of their profession.

We are excited to see PSS lead the way and look forward to seeing the great changes and progress veterinary practices make.
