Three leading healthcare organisations: Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, The Association of Anaesthetists and the Centre for Sustainable Healthcare are collaborating to appoint a Fellow in Environmentally Sustainable Anaesthesia. This exciting 12 month out of programme experience post is the first Anaesthetic fellowship of its kind.

The aim of the fellowship is to improve the evidence base underpinning environmentally sustainable anaesthesia, establish what best practice looks like, define and remove barriers to best practice implementation and to share the findings with the wider anaesthetic and medical communities.

This post would suit anaesthetic trainees who have a special interest in sustainable healthcare and post holders will have the opportunity to study for the Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education. Ideally applicants will have completed Foundation Training and Core Training. This post will provide a solid basis from which to apply for an ST post.

Post is available from February 2019 for 12 months.

The post will include clinical duties in anaesthesia and critical care and the successful individual will be expected to take part in the on call rota at a level suitable to their clinical experience.
