Greener Operations - research priority setting partnership

Hi All,

Hopefully this is of interest - we'd love to have as many people involved as possible!

We’ve just launched the second survey for our James Lind Alliance research priority setting partnership “Greener Operations”, which aims to identify the 10 most important unanswered research questions about how to make peri-operative care (including surgery, anaesthesia, and healthcare before and after the time of an operation) more environmentally sustainable. We hope this will help researchers decide what to study, and help funders decide what to pay for!

In our first survey (also posted to this forum) we invited patients, carers, members of the public and healthcare professionals to suggest topics that need to be researched - and we got over 1500 suggestions!

We have consolidated these suggestions into 60 “indicative” research questions, and checked that they have not already been answered.

We are now inviting patients, carers, members of the public and healthcare professionals to pick which 10 indicative questions are most important to them. This will allow us to make a shortlist of ~20 questions which we will take to our final priority setting workshop in June.

If you can spare a few mins to take our survey, look over our questions and pick your top 10, that would be great! Also, if you fancy coming to the final workshop (June 15th, London) as part of a group of healthcare workers, patients, carers, and members of the public who will decide on the final “top ten”, you can let us know via the survey.

Please feel free to share this post beyond the forum - the more responses, and the more diverse the respondents, the better!

Thanks!
