In my final year as a GP trainee I undertook a sustainability scholarship and learned about sustainable healthcare. Applying this knowledge I ran a sustainability project in the GP surgery I was working in.
The sustainability project used the Green Impact for Health Toolkit online. The surgery was supported to make changes that focussed on reducing carbon consumption, saving time and money and improving patient experience and care. Due to all the effort from surgery staff we were able to achieve a Green Impact for Health Bronze Award.
