Grants and loans for small businesses for renewables and low carbon technology

Dear all

I spoke to the Carbon Trust today

they offer loans to small businesses taking up greener technologies, improving building efficiency on existing buildings and offer lots of advice on carbon and cost reduction strategies. In Wales and Northern Ireland the loans are interest-free, but in England and Scotland they are set for 6-10% interest and maximum payback is 7 years.

They also made me aware of two other important sites

This last site offers expert advice and grants for businesses wanting to cut carbon and has details of several grant-making organisations and who is eligible.
