Have you heard about the ‘Productive General Practice'?

This is a programme from the NHS Institute which aims to support general practices in realising internal efficiencies, while maintaining quality of care and releasing time to spend on more value added activities.

They have incorporated Sustainability into the programme. For example there is a section on improving environmental performance, reducing waste in reception, and it also gives advice on collecting data on running costs which is an good area to make financial and carbon savings.

You may want to consider it for your GP practice.  Have a look at the Productive GP website

i just wanted to add that the Productive GP is a good example of the work carried out by the Centre for Sustainable Healthcare (CSH).  The NHS Institute commissioned the CSH and Forum for the Future (another sustainabiltiy charity) to work with the Productive GP team to incorporate sustainability tools.

Has anyone used the Productive GP in their practice?  If so, what was your experience?
