Davis Cup Finals 2019 Format

For the first time, this formate is changed. 18 teams will play in the round-Rubin stage from 6 different groups. Each group has three teams that will be scheduled.

From the 18 teams, 6 teams group winners teams and 2 best second-place teams will be the next quarterfinals stage. After the quarterfinals stage, 4 teams will be the semi-finals and these 4 teams will be qualified for the next 2020 Davis Cup. Similarly, after the semi-finals stage, two teams will be the finalist and they will play the battle of this tournament on 24 November.

Davis Cup Finals 2019 Groups Details

There are six confirmed participants: France, Croatia, Spain, and USA, as this year’s Davis Cup semifinalists, and Argentina and Great Britain, that were awarded two wild cards. For this format, finals will take place in a group-stage format over the first four days, with the countries divided into six groups of three teams. Each tie will consist of three matches – two singles and one double – of best-of-three sets.
