The World's Biggest Ever Symposium on the Health and Climate Crisis
Two weeks of talks, debates and workshops by surgeons, medics, midwives, GPs, psychiatrists and public health physicians.
Health professionals concerned about the climate crisis are this October hosting the ‘Planetary Health Hub’ to bring together health professionals and concerned individuals who want to inform and act specifically around the health impacts of climate change.
This half hour video looks at the health effects of climate change in six countries around the world. It is intended to help students in medicine, nursing and public health understand the conditions they will face in their professional lives over the coming few decades.
This clearly laid out, first level, detailing of the health effects of climate change makes an excellent learning resource or handout. Living with Environmental Change can be contacted for hard copies while stocks last.
To mark the launch of the report which makes the health case for divestment from fossil fuel, Healthy Planet and Medact are hosting an evening of discussion and debate on climate, health and fossil fuel finance at LSTHM on February 3rd. Speakers will include Rachel Stancliffe, Director of the Centre for Sustainable Healthcare, Jon Hoare, Director of Investor Networks at ShareAction, and UCL energy researcher Christophe McGlade. We hope you can join us for what promises to be a lively and informative evening!
