This study audited the introduction of recycling of paper and cardboard within an operating theatre. All waste within a single operating theatre was collected by a dedicated team for 20 surgical cases.
The two main forms of dialysis, haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis, are both dependent upon numerous pieces of single-use, disposal equipment, and both produce huge amounts of plastic and packaging waste. In this webinar, we will bring together people from different backgrounds to illustrate the ways in which this waste can be managed more sustainably, by those administering and receiving these treatments, through the use of case studies of good practice. We will also outline how to undertake a waste audit within a renal unit, which can be a great starting point for effecting change.
