Andrea Rother is an Associate Professor and Head of the Environmental Health Division in the School of Public Health and Family Medicine at the University of Cape Town, South Africa. She has 25 years of experience in research, capacity building and policy analysis related to pesticide and chemical risk management. Particular areas of expertise include engaged learning, risk communication, risk perceptions, exposure assessment, intervention development for low literate populations and translating research for the public and decision-makers. A/Prof Rother developed and is convener of UCT's Post Graduate Diploma in Pesticide Risk Management (DPRM). She is also founder and moderator of the Environmental Health Knowledge Management Network at UCT.
