My name is Jake and I am an ST2 level medical doctor working in St Georges Hospital and Kingston Hospital. I completed my training at University of Nottingham, and my foundation years in Northampton General Hospital and University Hospitals of Leicester.
I am currently studying for an MSc in Climate Change at King's College London, and am conducting a dissertation on the awareness of UK doctors on the current climate change policies within healthcare. I am looking to pursue a career in sustainable healthcare, and help build a NHS that is both adaptable and resilient to the impacts of climate change.
I am helping lead the sustainable respiratory care project running at King's College Hospital, and was lead author on a poster on patient attitudes towards sustainable inhalers presented at the 2022 Ecomedics conference in London. I have written and delivered a teaching programme on climate change and healthcare to medical students and foundation doctors across 3 trusts. I have been involved in multiple sustainability QIPs at my trusts, and presented them at local and regional governance meetings.
