Rachel Collins's picture

I recently changed my subject specialism having initially achieved a PhD and postdoctoral research experience in the Plant Sciences. I was then program manager and lecturer for higher education courses in horticulture, arboriculture and forestry. I then worked for the Alzheimer’s Society as a Day Care Worker and was inspired to return to research to study dementia, especially with respect to non-pharmaceutical interventions to aid both patients and their carers. I am currently a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Exeter and I am specifically interested in the role nature and the environment can play in supporting patients and their carers including the provision for social engagement through nature based programmes.
