Greener AHP Week: Introduction to Sustainable Healthcare

Jacqueline Gordon
Jacqueline Gordon

An introduction to what sustainable healthcare means: the NHS goals, our role as AHPs, some examples of good practice and where we can make a difference.

Jackie Gordon is an occupational therapist with a background in paediatric neurology. Currently she is on secondment from Great Ormond Street Hospital for a year as one of the Chief Sustainability Officer's clinical fellows, hosted by Sussex ICB.

Sam is a head and neck speech and language therapist by background. She is currently on secondment from her role as clinical lead at Oxford University Hospitals, as one of the Chief Sustainability Officer’s clinical fellows, hosted by the BMJ.

Sam and Jackie are the co-chairs of Greener AHP week 2024.

This Greener AHP week is an opportunity to:

  • share projects and ideas for AHPs to get involved
  • raise awareness of the links between health and climate change, the NHS net zero ambition, and the shifts required to build a Greener NHS programme, nationally and regionally
  • support each other and grow networks
  • consider what a greener NHS might look like and what the benefits can be for us all.
