The Severn Foundation School Presentation was held in Bristol face to face last week for the first time since the Covid Pandemic hit. It was great to see hundreds of foundation level doctors attend to present their work.
I helped judge the Sustainabiliity and Ethics category on behalf of the CSH and was impressed by the quality of the entries, of which 10 were SusQI projects.
The winning project focused on nitrous oxide use and had led to measures to limit wastage withing the unit. Re-auditing measures were also put into place, and I am sure significant GHG reductions will be achieved moving forward.
Many of the projects presented in the other QI categories could easily have included a sustainability analysis, and I look forward to one day attending this conference and finding that sustainability is a standard consideration in all change management projects.
