Entonox is a key hotspot of carbon emissions within Obstetric care, and in fact within the NHS generally. The Anaesthetic specialty has led the way with initiatives to reduce the impact of its inhalational anaesthetics, and we are now seeing increasing innovation in this area. I was happy to find this yesterday, and surprised it had passed me by for so ling. We have lots of data on NO leaks but not so much on entonox - however, work in Hull suggests that for some trusts at least Entonox leaks may be over 85%. Hull have slashed their Entonox emissions by over this amount without even looking at end user choice - https://www.hey.nhs.uk/news/2022/05/17/hospital-gas-emissions-slashed-a… ... Perhaps it is time for a national task force on Entonox leaks?
