#GreenerNursesAndMidwives week
As the largest and most trusted workforce in the country, nurses and midwives are well positioned to make a huge impact on greener healthcare towards achieving a net zero NHS. Nurses and midwives protect the health of people, families, communities and the natural environment by championing sustainability, promoting health equity and advocating for people most impacted and delivering evidence-based net zero health and social care.
Insights gathered through the NHSE Nursing and Midwifery Network reinforce the value colleagues get from opportunities to create connections, learn from each other and share ideas and evidence as it supports future projects and clinical engagement. However, there are challenges receiving support from system leaders to conduct this work which is of national priority. Thus, a week of webinars with a regional leadership is an opportunity engage leaders, reinforce the key importance of this work and support colleagues to connect, learn and scale and spread ideas / projects.
Many nurses and midwives are already actively engaged in greener care initiatives for their clinical areas. If you wish to present a project you have been involved with then please contact the event lead for your region to discuss the opportunity to share your experience and learning whilst inspiring others across the country.
