In July, experts from across the health sector joined together in a whiteboarding session to discuss processes for understanding and managing climate risk to the health system, local and global cascade events to prepare for, advocacy and risk assessment. A brief summary can be found here.
Following on, we are holding a second session that is designed to be a co-creation one. Participants will jointly agree on the opportunity to create an output that will provoke the health system to action the necessary steps for climate risk management. (potentially an open letter?)
All who have experience of working within the health sector are welcome and encouraged to join us and share their thoughts and perspectives. We will aim to create a high-level action plan on delivery of a positive challenge to the system.
Please bear in mind that, like other Cadence sessions, this workshop is not about actions to reduce carbon emissions – we will be delighted to refer you to other relevant fora for that. The conversations we host are about adaptation – planning the changes we need to make in order to cope with climate impacts.
