🎤 Speaker: Prof Alberto Ortiz – Head of Nephrology and Hypertension, Fundación Jiménez Díaz University Hospital, Professor of Medicine Universidad Autónoma de Madrid.
Prof Ortiz studied Medicine at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM), Spain, trained as a nephrologist and completed his PhD at Fundacion Jimenez Diaz and UAM in Madrid and was a postdoctoral researcher in Molecular Nephrology at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.
Alongside his roles at Fundacion Jimenez Diaz and Universidad Autonoma de Madrid, Prof Ortiz is Renal Science Chair of the European Renal Association (ERA), coordinator of the Spanish Kidney Research Network (RICORS2040-renal) and SpaCKDc (Spain CKD consortium - ISCIII initiative on Precision Genomic Medicine) and a distinguished member of the ERA (FERA). He received the 2020 ERA-EDTA Award for Excellence in Research.
