Aisling Condon and Helen Taylor from the Carbon Literacy Project, give an introduction to Carbon Literacy in healthcare and for AHPs specifically. The presentation aims to increase awareness and understanding of what Carbon Literacy means and the environmental impact we have as healthcare professionals, and ideas on how we can begin to reduce this impact.
Aisling is an experienced musculoskeletal physiotherapist based down in Cornwall, UK, who specialises in working with those with connective tissue disorders. She became involved in sustainability after completing the Carbon Literacy for healthcare training in 2021 and has since created the Physiotherapy specific Carbon Literacy training course, which she now teaches to therapists around the world.
Helen is the Healthcare and Blue Light Coordinator at The Carbon Literacy Project. Helen has experience within the healthcare sector, working as a critical care nurse, predominantly in the field of neurology and neurosurgery. Helen holds a BSC in Environment Design and Management and a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA).
Helen has worked in sustainability for the last five years, predominantly delivering Carbon Literacy training to businesses and supporting organisations with embedding sustainability and carbon management.
Helen is combining her skills to build the number of Carbon Literate healthcare professionals and support the healthcare sector to decarbonise.
