Green Walking case study - Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust: Walking Group

Occupational therapist staff at the Malago Centre formed a green walking group for the medium secure Fromeside Unit of the Blackberry Hill Hospital. This group is focused on patient fitness and mindfulness and offers a social opportunity for patients. OTs, the multidisciplinary team, and psychology units support group operation.   It is hoped that by leaving the hospital patients have a chance to regain a sense of normalcy and that value is placed onto the local green spaces. Patients' physical and mental well-being are being evaluated.
