A pilot green walking program was initiated by staff at Chartwell Ward, Priority House in Kent for female inpatient psychiatric patients. This group focused on women as it has been shown that women exercise less frequently than men. Weekly walks were provided to a local green space.  They noted benefits to being off the ward, increased socialisation between patients and staff, and reduced tension for everyone.
