Sustainable Healthcare Education—a network of academics, doctors, and health-care students—has developed three simple learning objectives to communicate the links between medical practice and a more environmentally and socially sustainable world.  The three overarching learning objectives for sustainability and health care (1) describe how the environment and human health interact at different levels (2) show the knowledge and skills needed to improve the environmental sustainability of health systems, and (3) discuss how the duty of a doctor to protect and promote health is affected by the dependence of human health on the local and global environment.
