In this newly launched podcast GPs Daisy Lund and Clare Day take you through all things health and plant based.
The intro episode explores how Daisy and Clare became plant based and how they apply the evidence in their personal lives and clinical work. In episode 1 they speak to founder of Plant-based Health Professionals UK Dr Shireen Kassam: why plant based diets should be at the centre of healthcare.
This is a great addition to the health and diet podcast landscape and is especially welcome as it has a UK/European focus. The hosts and many of the guests are part of Plant Based Health Porfessionals UK and bring an evidence based approach, grounded in their experience and practice. The hosts do a great job of citing the evidence, making it accessible, bringing clarity to important nutrition informaion, and also sharing their own experiences. There are also tips on recipe ideas each episode! The link below is to spotify but just search 'In a Nutshell' to find it in your favourite podcast app or service.

I have just started listening to this podcase series and cannot recommend it highly enough for a really informative resource on wholefood plant based diet and health. Some great tips for talking to patients about food in the consultation and signposting to huge amounts of resources on the Plant Based Health Professionals website on the evidence base, the health benefits, advice on common questions like getting enough protein, iron etc, advising in different patient groups etc. Fab! https://plantbasedhealthprofessionals.com/factsheets
