To sip or not to sip: the environmental burden of oral nutritional supplements

Thank you for bringing this to light. The other issue is with the inability of pharmacies to take back unused cartons of nutritional / supplement drinks. If one drink is tried and then (as you have commented) the individual decides not to take them, one is left in the community with a pallet of unused drinks. I have tried to return them to pharmacy but they are not allowed to accept them back.
It is the same with medications - 3 months worth of antibiotics (for acne) but then the antibiotics were changed to another, the patient is left with packets of useable/ unopened/ in date antibiotics.
Pharmacy needs to lead on getting this issue looked into. The waste -financial/ environmental is unacceptable and untenable.
