UK Attitudes towards waste in Cataract Surgery
Cataracts remain the leading cause of blindness worldwide, and cataract surgery is the most commonly performed surgical procedure in the UK, and worldwide.
One cataract operation in the UK generates the CO2 equivalent emissions as driving a car 310 miles. Conversely, the Arvind Eye Care System in India generates the equivalent CO2 emissions of driving just 16 miles, with comparable, if not better clinical outcomes.
We need to know your views to help quantify and thus tackle the problem, so please spare just 10 minutes of your time to complete the survey below;

For every 100 completed surveys, 1 tree will be planted, by NHS forests

This project is dependent on your support. The survey itself was developed in collaboration with Professor Chang and Thiel in the US who have published their survey results and subsequent work. The survey asks for emails and names but it is completely anonymous. The names and emails are kept to prevent duplicate responses, and for you to come back to the survey should you get pulled away.
Thank you in advance for your engagement in the mission to achieve carbon neutrality in the NHS by 2030!
