Are we ready to embed nature into healthcare?

Marina Robb
Marina Robb • 2 September 2026

Across healthcare, conversations about nature-based practice are becoming increasingly common.

The evidence base is growing. Interest amongst clinicians is growing. Green Social Prescribing programmes continue to develop.

Yet one important challenge remains:

How do we implement nature-informed approaches safely, credibly and sustainably within healthcare systems?

In one month, Circle of Life Rediscovery CIC is bringing together professionals from across healthcare and nature-based practice for

The Green Health Virtual Gathering 2026: Embedding Nature in Practice, From Vision to Delivery.

🌳 See the line-up and book: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/1989821154638

This is a practice-focused morning designed to move the conversation beyond why nature matters and towards how we make it work within real healthcare settings. We do hope you will join the discussion.

🌳 Tickets from £18. A recording will be sent to ticket holders.

DISCUSSIONS INCLUDE:

Nature Matters: How Can We Bridge the Implementation and Translation Gap?

Dr Shuo Zhang will explore one of the central questions facing nature-informed healthcare: how we bridge the gap between knowledge and real-world implementation.

Beyond the Green Pill

Roger Duncan will continue the systems conversation with Beyond the Green Pill, exploring how nature-based practice can move beyond isolated interventions and become part of wider health and care systems.

We’ll also explore some of the big questions around delivery with short discussions such as the below from:

Dr Alan Kellas
Governance and Risk in Nature-Based Healthcare

Dr Hannah Sherbersky
More Than a Green Intervention: What a Systemic Lens Brings to Nature-Based Mental Healthcare

Dr Ralph Mortimer
Green Prescribing: What Is Working and What Are the Challenges?

And importantly, we'll hear what nature-based approaches look like in practice.

Real-world case studies will explore NHS workforce recovery, adult mental health, stress and burnout among NHS staff, and nature-based support for young people with learning disabilities.

The morning will culminate in a live panel conversation and our interactive From Vision to Delivery session, considering:

  • What is helping this work move forward?
  • What barriers remain?
  • What needs to happen next?
