In the School of Health at the University of Central Lancashire we are currently developing an MSc in Sustainability, Health and Wellbeing.
This course will seek to explore global challenges, as well as those being specific to individual regions, and hence be applicable to public health and healthcare personnel around the world. Opportunities for part-time and e-learning delivery will open the course to an international market of people from a range of professional backgrounds.
We want to ensure that the course is developed in alignment with current local, national and international needs and hence we are seeking opinions from a broad range of people who have an interest and expertise in sustainability and health. We have therefore developed a short online questionnaire that should only take a few minutes to complete. As a member of the Sustainable Healthcare Education Group we would greatly appreciate your input.
If you have any questions about the development please feel free to contact Kate Chatfield kchatfield@uclan.ac.uk.
Thank you for your consideration
This development is being led by Mark Dooris [Professor in Health and Sustainability]
and Kate Chatfield [Course Leader, MSc Integrated Healthcare]
It is our belief that there is a pressing need to:
§ strengthen and deepen understanding of the close connections between health and sustainable development
§ mobilise action that respects our planet and the environment upon which life depends, champions social justice, and promotes the wellbeing of people and places,
§ create sustainable health and care systems that works within environmental and social resources to protect and improve health for current and future generations.
