Hi there,
I am working with some doctors who want to do a project on reducing the use of ethyl chloride spray for venepuncture/cannulation analgesia in paediatrics. Has anyone done any work on this already that they are willing to share? I've been looking into alternatives such as buzzy - does anyone have experience of using this? We already use cold creams but the alternative to ethyl chloride spray probably needs to be something that can be used instantly.
Thanks,
Emily
The onlyproject that comes to mind is the this one that replaced Ethyl Chloride with cold sticks for checking spinal and epidural block ... not sure if the concept could be adapted safely? https://fabnhsstuff.net/storage/CE05-Who-needs-spray-anyway
