In community services we are constantly disposing of scissors through delivery of treatments such as wound care and other procedures due to infection control policies. Not does this have a huge carbon impact across our services but also a financial one!
Can anyone recommend any solutions to this? Ie sterilisation, recyclable items etc to lessen the impact?!!!

Our hospital has just started using these metal instrument recycling bins (https://www.sharpsmart.co.uk/metal-recycling-solutions) in theatres/endoscopy/some wards. If the scissors you are using are all metal this might be another option?
