Greener therapeutic ADL kitchens

Hi I have been given responsibility for writing a new policy on the use of our therapeutic kitchens. Looking at others and existing policies, their is unquestioning use of multiple disposable PPE equipment. Has anyone created a policy that includes reuse and appropriate washable PPE for the kitchen environment?

Hi Lee! What a great question! I can't abide the NHS waste, and 'unquestioning' is a very apt way of putting it. Silence is Violence, so they say, and I am glad you are speaking up about this. I don't work as a 'normal' OT at the moment (partly because this behaviour frustrates me so much). But shall we have a conflab about it? Perhaps it's something we should just draft up, and see if anyone is willing to trial? It's not difficult to get washable aprons!!! We don't dispose of cutlery, crockery, pots, pans or anything else we handle together during assessments, so why dispose of anything else? Be great to chat!
