Hi all,
Is anyone using compostable/paper/cardboard medicines pots in their setting instead of plastic ones? I have a secondary care colleague who is interested in switching over what they give the ward nurses to use during drug rounds. It would be helpful to hear from anyone who has made the change!
Hello - on our wards, staff use waxed paper medicine pots.
Is this what you were referring to? I don't know how much they cost but I assume they will be on NHS procurement list? This is a random website I found to show the style of the pot we use. https://www.medisupplies.co.uk/Medical-Consumables/Waxed-Paper-Medicine…
Our wards use a mixture of paper medicines pots and plastic pots - the plastic pots for mainly liquid medicines and the paper pots for tablets etc. The company producing the paper pots is Praxis Medical Ltd, code PMP-28.
