CSH is excited to be working with new colleagues from surgery and anaesthetics to develop this Sustainable Operating Theatres network in the coming months.
Chantelle Rizan joined CSH in August 2018 for a three-year Sustainable Surgery Fellowship. Taking time out from her ENT training, she is currently working towards a PhD in improving the sustainability of surgery at the University of Brighton.
From this month, we have another new member of the team: Charlotte Holbrook, a paediatric sugery trainee at Great Ormond Street. Charlotte will be working alongside Chantelle 2 days per month for the next year as the Sustainable Operating Theatres network manager.
And in February 2019, we look forward to welcoming Cathy Lawson who will bring an anaesthetics perspective. Cathy is an anaesthetic trainee in the North East and will be stepping into the new Environmentally Sustainable Anaesthesia Fellowship - a role created through collaboration between Newcastle Hospitals, the Association of Anaesthetists and CSH.
We plan to reach out to all the different groups working in theatres to grow the network as a place to share resources, ideas and experiences of improving sustainability. We hope that you will join in too!
