The NHS Forest has published a seasonal Newsletter.
As well as some festive links, including our good friends at the Tree Charter, this issue picks up some of our recent work on the subject of mental health and dementia.
The Christmas period is often a real struggle for people coping with isolation and mental ill health, and we have been doing a lot of work with our partners to explore how reconnecting people with their surroundings can help them to manage their conditions and form positive connections. As well as the established evidence around green space, we are also looking at the role that heritage can play in reestablishing cultural connections between people and place, and this is going to be a big part of our thinking with partners in 2017.
On behalf of the NHS Forest can I wish all our network members a very happy Christmas and I look forward to working with you in the New Year.
