Exciting news for pharmacy! NHS England is planning to develop sustainability guidance for both community and hospital pharmacy teams to reduce their environmental impact. Given that pharmaceuticals account for 25% of the NHS carbon footprint, it is clear that the pharmacy profession has a huge role to play in reducing the carbon footprint and in educating patients in optimising medicines within a sustainable healthcare framework.
