Posting on behalf of a colleague from our hand therapy team looking at more sustainable options for plastic moulded orthotics for patients. The 3 alternatives they have identified as potentially bio-degradable are:
X-lite - supplied by Kinetec - research suggests that the material is compostable
Bioplastics being developed by Promedics - these are brand new as a concept so it would be interesting to know if anyone is already using them
Woodcast - supplied by Onbone - this is woodchips bonded with a resin which is claimed to be compostable too
Has anyone any experience in this area, or any evidence to support their decision making?
Thanks
