Plastic waste

Working in theatre we use alot of plastic, especially on the scrub side. I was wondering has any other hospital worked out a safe and environmentally friendly was to recycle these plastics or another area on the scrub side of theatre? Any way to improve recycling on this side of theatre should be shared. Anaesthetics is advancing so much more on becoming environmentally friendly but is leaving the other areas of theatre behind. I think more needs to be done to address all areas.
