We are used to advising on reducing the health risks from cold weather. Do we think about heatwaves in the same way? I am interested in finding out what health and social care professionals do when working with people in their homes, hospitals or care homes to help mitigate the risk of heat stress. Do we take it into account on discharge from hospital? Is there specific equipment/adaptations that we recommend or resources that you signpost? I would love to hear from you.
Hi Leisle, if you haven't already come across it, UKHSA published some interesting research about the experience of social care workers during the 2022 heatwaves. Sounds like it might be useful/interesting to you: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/hot-weather-and-health-explo…
