The Respiratory community is committed to delivering the best healthcare for our patients today and in the future. We have some significant challenges to overcome to achieve this: greenhouse gases in MDI inhalers; the impacts of air pollution; single use plastic waste from procedures; PPE going to landfill; and barriers to increasing active travel uptake. But we also have many solutions. This group has already shared lots of these, and it’s clear there’s huge amounts of knowledge and experience out there. With brilliant work from Greener Practice on the Asthma toolkit, and the BTS appointing a Trustee for Sustainability, there’s never been a better time to get involved and to be part of the solution.
That’s why we are relaunching this network with new co-chairs who will be posting ideas, questions and resources regularly. We’ll also be arranging online sharing events so that we can learn from each other and accelerate change in all our workplaces. Please let us know what you would like from this network in the future, and invite others to join – we’re keen for a wide spread of professionals and locations.
