Looing forward to being there and sharing thoughts
The meeting in Helsinki began to clarify the aims and objectives of an international working group on SHE. Clarifying the aims and approach could help us to obtain funding and form a sustainable platform for international collaboration.
What opportunities are upcoming for a future fact to face meeting to further the discussion that we started in Helsinki and online?
Carrying on past efforts: We can certainly try to collaborate on publications and presentations.
New efforts: We should have a readily available document to see/update what people are doing.
One thing that has struck me is how many enviro groups there are in the US. Everyone seems to be doing something but how is everyone talking to everyone else? How can we harness the power of groups towards one goal?
Funding: are there any funders who will fund international networks? Has anyone looked into this? For example, At GCCHE, we are focusing on train the trainer. Faculty development efforts (e.g. through an itinerant trainer esp. using training materials that are or will soon be available) might be fundable. But this sort of brainstorming is best done live.
