The Spirit Level - equality is a central message for healthcare and sustainability

Many of you will have heard of and read the award-winning book The Spirit Level, which highlighted the damage that increasing inequality has done to our society, especially with regards to health, and what we can do about it.

This book is now being turned into a film with an ambitious aim: to do for equality campaigns what Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth" did for climate change campaigns. The Spirit Level will be a very powerful resource - film has become one of the most effective ways of raising awareness, influencing public opinion and effecting policy change. The film is being made by an experienced, award winning team (the makers of the recent The End of the Line, The Flaw and Black Gold) and we believe it has a huge potential to have a real impact. Millions could see it in cinemas and on television, and it can be screened at events and organisations nationwide to spread the message of what can be done to improve lives in our society.

Do you want to help ensure the film gets made, and gets to the widest possible audience?  The film makers are collaborating with the Centre for Sustainable Healthcare to ensure that the film includes really strong messages on the benefits of more equality to both health and sustainability.

The film campaign is live for just over one week only at indiegogo.com/spiritlevelfilm. You can support the film by pre-buying a download, or a signed copy of the book. And you can also help by sharing the campaign link  http://www.indiegogo.com/spiritlevelfilm via your networks, Facebook and Twitter.

It would be fantastic if you could support this important initiative in any way you can. Do tell us about any ideas you have for how healthcare can be involved with the film and we will inlcude you in our discussions with the team.
