UN and WHO find that cycling has huge potential to save lives and create jobs

A report from the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe and the World Health Organisation details how cycling has the potential to save 10,000 lives and create employment over 76,000 jobs.  Alongside the health and environment co-benefits, Unlocking New Opportunities finds that active travel brings economic value.

The report provides data on 54 major European cities and demonstrates the financial, social and environmental gains and losses of different modes of transport.
